About

A little bit about the person behind Silks And The City:

I’m a qualified lawyer having trained and qualified at Mishcon de Reya, a London firm. I have recently left the firm and will be joining a renowned rights-based law firm in their Family team in November 2023 after enjoying a three month sabbatical. I began my training contract in August 2020 with the backdrop of a global pandemic. I was a mature-aged LLB and LPC student, with a winding and bumpy route to law. I’m passionate about helping others succeed, and realise their full potential – while investing in their well-being. I believe strongly in community and boosting others without fear that this will threaten our own future. I also am incredibly committed to furthering equal opportunity, championing the rights + voices of the underprivileged, under-represented + disadvantaged, and empowering those who may not be able to see their own worth or who struggle to convey it. From these beliefs came the desire to create Silks And The City – which I hope in some small way will help you.

A little bit about this site:

Silks And The City is aimed at providing hints and tips to get ahead, and hopefully to learn from the mistakes I have made along the way. Here you’ll find articles on all things legal, university, London, how to thrive + survive as a student, how to gain work experience, how to job hunt, ways to remain healthy + happy and ultimately how to find your version of success (whatever that may be).
